Facelift Academy Istanbul

Who we are

Facelift Academy Istanbul is an independent academic platform established to provide education in facial aesthetics and facial surgery to international standards. Its founders, Assoc. Prof. Emine Demir and Assoc. Prof. Mehti Şalvız, are two surgeons with many years of clinical and academic experience in facelift, endoscopic brow lift, eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation.

What we set out to do

Our aim is to pass on the most current techniques, safe approaches and aesthetic vision in facial aesthetic surgery to both young and experienced surgeons. To achieve this:

  • We share practice transparently through live surgery demonstrations.
  • We teach basic and advanced surgical anatomy through cadaver dissection courses.
  • We offer young surgeons a long-term, structured training opportunity through fellowship programmes.
  • Through courses and meetings we apply a layered training model addressing different regions of the face, from the beginner physician to the advanced surgeon.

Why

Facial aesthetics is a field that grows every day with rising aesthetic demand and the development of health tourism. We believe this growth must be supported by qualified, safe and aesthetically satisfying results. By strengthening the sharing of knowledge, we aim to secure sustainable development in the field, both academically and professionally.

Our vision

As an internationally recognised centre for education and research, to develop not only the technical skills of surgeons but also their aesthetic vision, and thereby contribute to the formation of global standards in facial aesthetics.

More about the academy

Faculty

Courses are led by two surgeons whose daily practice is facial aesthetic surgery. Not lecturers — the surgeons operating in the theatre that day.

Assoc. Prof. Emine Demir

Face and neck aesthetic surgery — deep plane facelift, neck lift, endoscopic facial rejuvenation

Her practice is devoted exclusively to facial aesthetic surgery; she performs facelift, neck lift and endoscopic rejuvenation daily, averaging around 20 cases a month.

Faculty profile

Assoc. Prof. Mehti Şalvız

Face and neck aesthetic surgery — deep plane facelift, neck lift, endoscopic facial rejuvenation; cat eye, endoscopic canthoplasty, endoscopic brow lift, endoscopic midface lift

His main surgical focus is minimally invasive endoscopic facial approaches; he worked as a research fellow at Harvard's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

How our training model works

Every course follows the same seven steps. Participants do not merely watch a technique; they see the whole decision chain, from patient selection to complication management.

  1. Theory

The rationale behind the technique: why this approach, for which patient, against which alternatives.

  2. Surgical anatomy

A layer-by-layer anatomical compass; safe dissection planes and danger zones.

  3. Patient selection

Indications and contraindications; what to do and what not to do for whom.

  4. Preoperative marking on a live patient

Surgical planning is demonstrated in the patient room, on the actual patient.

  5. Live surgery

Uninterrupted broadcast from theatre to lecture hall; every step narrated as it is performed.

  6. Case discussion

Participants' own cases and examples from the faculty's series.

  7. Postoperative care and complications

What the literature says, what we have seen, what we did: process management and revision.
